Expanding upon the continuing ideas inherent in the ephemeral nature of my wall and floor installations, I am interested in the tensions where the installations are in the public arena but become difficult to be commodified. My intent is steeped in the possibilities of pitting temporary wall painting against the cultural normative of oil painting on canvas, I situate the thrust of these pieces within the realm of labor assessments (in the viewers’ knowledge of the impending sanding and painting-over of the work), while giving homage to the vast history of, and the human desire to, decorate interior spaces as well as the continual re-designing and upgrading of living/working spaces.
